French business representatives visit WHDZ

Updated: 2019-05-08

Representatives from French companies in Wuhan visited the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Central China's Hubei province on April 26.

The delegation was led by Gui Yonghua, consul-general of France in Wuhan. Peng Hao, director of the management committee of WHDZ, welcomed and met with the representatives.

Wuhan is home to more French-invested companies than any other city in China, and the WHDZ is the most expansive area of French-invested companies in Wuhan.

French companies, such as Dongfeng Renault Automobile and Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile, both of which are Sino-French joint ventures, play an important role in the zone.

Gui and the representatives visited a number of French companies in the zone to learn about their recent development and growth problems.

At the following meeting, Peng said that the WHDZ is currently upgrading its industries and offering excellent development opportunities. He invited more French companies to invest in the zone.

The WHDZ will begin providing a better business environment and services for investors, Peng added.

Peng also replied to issues brought forth by companies during the meeting, and encouraged companies to improve their technological innovation capabilities by offering them awards.
