A delegation led by Liu Weidong, chairman of Chongqing Changan Automobile visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on March 8.

The delegation came to discuss accelerating the pace of construction work on a smart automobile logistics industrial park in the zone.

Hu Hongchun, secretary of WHDZ's work committee, welcomed the group and held a meeting with them.

In 2017, Chongqing Changan Minsheng APLL Logistics Co, a company affiliated to Changan Automobile, and Wuhan Changxin Hengyuan Group, an automobile service provider, signed a cooperation agreement with WHDZ, to invest a total of 3.6 billion yuan ($536.26 million) in the zone to build a smart automobile logistics industrial park.

Covering an area measuring 416 mu (27.73 hectares), the project contains a three-story parking lot, an auto parts collection center, a smart logistics research center, and an automobile logistics intelligent service platform.

The new industrial park will feature car shops, engineering centers for auto installation and modification, and R&D facilities to research smart logistics.

Hu said that the zone is developing itself into a world-renowned automobile hub, and will provide every possible support for the construction of the park.
