Updated: 2019-02-28

Hu Hongchun, secretary of the work committee of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, inspected the zone's general aviation industrial park and business park, on Feb 26.

He visited companies and Hannan General Aviation Airport at the general aviation industrial park, learning about the latest developments and efforts to attract investment.

Covering an area of 24.75 square kilometers, the General Aviation and Satellite Industrial Park attracted investment of 11.7 billion yuan ($1.75 billion) over the past year and made 3.76 billion yuan of industrial investment.

Hu spoke highly of the park's achievements over recent years, and said that general aviation is an emerging industry which is playing an important role in the zone's industrial upgrading.

He argued that the park should continue to introduce companies and investments, as well as improve infrastructure, to make progress in the general aviation sector.

At the business park, Hu learnt of construction work on major projects in the area and the ways in which the park was attempting to attract investment.

Covering an area of around 61 square kilometers, the business park currently has more than 5,600 companies, and attracted investment of 16.1 billion yuan over the past year.

Hu stressed that the park should encourage high-end industries to gather in clusters, and accelerate the establishment of a demonstration area for the integrated development of modern service and advanced manufacturing industries.
