A delegation led by Zhang Shihua, head of the publicity department of the CPC Wuhan municipal committee, visited Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Feb 19.
The officials were there to check the progress of construction work on the media center for the 7th Military World Games, which will be held in Wuhan from Oct 18 to 27.
Hu Hongchun, secretary of WHDZ's work committee and Peng Hao, director of the zone's management committee, accompanied the delegation.
The new facility, covering a construction area totaling 43,900 square meters, is located at the intersection of Taizihu Road and Dongfeng Avenue in the zone and will utilize 5G technology to serve global media workers during the event.
Zhang checked the construction of the main areas of the four-story building, emphasizing that workers must ensure quality and safety when working on the project.
Construction work on the media center is expected to be completed next month.
