Dongfeng Motor Corporation, based in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), central China's Hubei province, signed a cooperation agreement with telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies on Aug 16.
The agreement commits both sides to working closely together on a number of projects, especially R&D of electric and smart automobiles.
On the basis of a previous agreement signed in 2014, the two companies will further cooperation in the development of intelligence, networking, electrification and the sharing of automobiles.
According to the agreement, the two sides will focus on cooperation in the fields of cloud computing, big data, the internet of things, and information security, in order to promote the transformation of Dongfeng through digital technologies.
And both companies will place a special emphasis on innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence and 5G mobile communications, with the aim of providing safe and smart travel services for customers.
