Wuhan is offering 42 million yuan ($6.28 million) in car purchase vouchers during the Wuhan 2026 Motor Show, which opened on Oct 30, as part of efforts to boost auto consumption and promote locally made vehicles.
The vouchers, issued by the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), cover brands including Dongfeng, XPeng, Geely, Xiaomi, Changan, and Hongqi. The package includes 20 million yuan in vouchers for the zone and 22 million yuan in "Enjoy Shopping in Wuhan" auto vouchers.
The event also saw the launch of policies to support local automakers' overseas expansion, focusing on overseas market access and compliance, product adaptation, international certification, supply chain development, and overseas service networks.
This year's motor show covers 180,000 square meters across 12 indoor exhibition halls, bringing together more than 120 brands and over 1,500 vehicles. More than 60 models are making their national or Central China debuts, marking a significant expansion from last year.
Six new models from Dongfeng brands, including the Courage, Mengshi X700, and eπ 007, were unveiled, accompanied by vehicle delivery events. Dongfeng Motor also signed a cooperation agreement with Hubei Shuangxi Dividend New Energy Technology Co, while eπ Technology secured orders for 1,100 ride-hailing vehicles from several companies.
Automotive parts makers, flying vehicles, and humanoid robots also showcased the region's industrial strengths and emerging mobility technologies.
