A total of 255 teams received awards at the 12th China Graduate Future Flight Vehicle Innovation Competition, which concluded on Nov 1 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The three-day national competition attracted 784 teams and more than 3,000 students and faculty members from 164 universities and research institutions to compete in four categories: regular, challenge, interdisciplinary, and enterprise tracks.
At the awards ceremony, WEDZ signed preliminary talent recruitment agreements with representatives of 20 award-winning contestants. Under its talent recruitment policy, winners of third prize or above who settle in WEDZ may be recommended for the talent program.
The zone is seeking to develop its low-altitude economy, with more than 30 aviation-related companies, including 3611, Offshore Helicopter General Aviation Co, and Xurilantian. It is also home to Wuhan Hannan Airport, the city's only general aviation airport, and has developed eight application scenarios, including emergency rescue and short-haul general aviation services.
WEDZ also held a series of supporting events, including an aerospace industry forum, a recruitment fair, and project matchmaking sessions, to promote collaboration between young innovators and local businesses.
