Voyah Automobile's smart manufacturing facility for new energy passenger vehicles has been included on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's recently announced 2026 list of National Excellence-Level Smart Factories, making the company the only complete vehicle manufacturing plant in Hubei province and the sole Excellence-Level Factory in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The Excellence-Level Smart Factory designation represents the pinnacle of intelligent manufacturing in China and serves as a benchmark for the digital and intelligent capabilities of manufacturing enterprises. As of mid-2026, while over 56,000 basic-level smart factories exist nationwide, only about 500 have attained the prestigious excellence-level status.
Voyah has established a digital factory aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, with two primary production bases: the Golden Factory and the Yunfeng Factory. This comprehensive manufacturing system spans architecture, networking, production, quality, and delivery, with notable strengths in autonomy and sustainability.
The Voyah facility houses China's first fully localized automotive welding production line, incorporating self-developed components across all facets, from core PLC control systems to execution-unit robots and detection sensors.
The factory also has a digital twin system that enables precise, efficient process simulation and automated document distribution, and boasts extensive industrial IoT coverage, complete equipment data collection, and predictive maintenance and intelligent warning capabilities.
Voyah Automobile has achieved nearly 100 percent product recyclability, with the Yunfeng Factory hosting Wuhan's largest distributed photovoltaic project in the automotive manufacturing sector, generating 26.9 million kWh of green electricity annually and reducing carbon emissions by over 22,000 metric tons.
The two factories boast a production capacity of 450,000 vehicles, with a new vehicle rolling off the line every 40 seconds on average.
WEDZ currently has one excellence-level smart factory, 30 advanced-level smart factories, and 25 basic-level smart factories.
