Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co (DPCA) signed a strategic partnership with Momenta on Sept 24 to develop advanced intelligent driving assistance systems for the latest Peugeot and Jeep models, which will be produced at DPCA's Wuhan facility.
DPCA and Momenta will collaborate on the mass production of advanced intelligent driving assistance systems and the development of L3 autonomous driving technologies.
The partnership will focus on defining functional scenarios, enhancing product experiences, and advancing chassis calibration and system adaptation to ensure technology meets user needs and vehicles effectively serve their users.
The initiative will also integrate AI control commands to generate high-level autonomous driving decisions from multimodal inputs, creating a personalized AI Agent for users and making driving assistance resemble the thought processes of an experienced driver.
DPCA and Momenta will develop solutions for fine control at the wheel-end level, aiming to preserve the unique driving feel of French vehicles while offering precise control on unpaved roads and complex terrains, delivering a true off-road intelligent driving assistance experience.
Several new energy DPCA models will feature Momenta's leading world model and will enter European and global markets in 2027, catering to diverse scenarios such as off-road adventures, urban commuting, and family travel.
With a 34-year presence in the Chinese market, DPCA has established a strong foothold, while Momenta, founded in 2016, has emerged as a global leader in physical AI. By 2025, its intelligent driving assistance solutions were incorporated into over 160 production models across eight of the world's top 10 automakers.
