Mayors and representatives participating in the Global Mayors Dialogue in Wuhan and the 2026 Wuhan International Friendship Cities Cooperation Conference visited Dongfeng Motor's global innovation center and M-Hero Automotive on Sept 19 to experience Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ)'s intelligent automotive industrial strength.

They gained insights into the growth trajectory of China's automotive industry through Dongfeng's development history and explored Dongfeng's latest technological achievements in new energy and intelligent connectivity.

Representatives from Finland and Indonesia tried out the displayed cars. Jukka Vilen, chief of staff at Kemin kaupunki, Finland, sat in a massage seat and exclaimed, "Amazing!" with a relaxed smile.

The Manchester delegation showed keen interest in Dongfeng's intelligent driving technology, asking detailed questions about features such as autonomous driving and automated parking.

When asked whether the braking would be abrupt, a Dongfeng representative said, "No, the vehicle will come to a stop smoothly." This detail surprised Manchester Mayor Shaukat Ali and his delegation.

The representatives also visited the M-Hero experience area, where an off-road vehicle showcased its prowess.

An Indonesian representative recorded the entire experience on their phone and said, "I can't wait to bring one back to Jakarta."
