Dongfeng Motor Corporation announced its Skyward Sailing Plan on Sept 14, targeting overseas sales of 1.5 million vehicles by 2030.

Zhou Feng, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Motor, outlined the company's focus on Europe and the Americas as key hubs for passenger vehicles, while the Americas and Central and Northern Asia will also serve as strategic centers for commercial vehicles.

Southeast Asia, Central and Northern Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Australia/New Zealand have been identified as critical regions, with resource allocation tailored to the specific characteristics of each market.

Dongfeng plans to upgrade its passenger vehicle electric platform architecture, aiming for a reuse rate of over 80 percent for key components and assemblies. The company is also committed to zero-carbon emissions for commercial vehicles.

Moreover, it will introduce customized hydrogen energy and integrated hydrogen-electric solutions, set to debut at the IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, from Sept 15 to 20.

Dongfeng aims to invest 50 billion yuan ($7.45 billion) in overseas markets by 2030, launch over 50 products adhering to international standards, and establish 10 large-scale production bases, five R&D centers, and two financial platforms. The company also plans to recruit 5,000 international talents to support its global expansion.
