The Emerging Industry Promotion Center in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has become a living hub for young professionals, with 1,842 furnished apartments boasting an occupancy rate of over 98 percent.
Each morning, young professionals catch buses that whisk them to their workplaces in just five minutes. As the day progresses, the area buzzes with activity, with shops, including supermarkets, hair salons, and restaurants, bustling with people.
Fu Zhong, a resident from Hengyang, Hunan province, shares a four-person apartment equipped with amenities like air conditioning and a washing machine. He noted, "Renting outside used to cost me nearly 1,000 yuan ($149) a month, and the conditions weren't as good. Now, it's more than half the price and closer to my workplace."
The apartments offer diverse layouts, accommodating single, double, four-person, and six-person arrangements. Employees from nearly 100 companies, including XPeng Motors’ Wuhan base, CALB, and Cainiao, have moved in.
A one-stop commercial complex with 32 shops will open by the end of this year, providing residents with convenient access to dining, shopping, and entertainment.
